Three American bully dogs have attacked and killed a 70-year-old man in front of his home in the Phu Wiang area of Khon Kaen in northeastern Thailand. The victim Mr Lek Seepak was rushed to hospital but died shortly afterwards, Thai Media reports.

The American bulldogs belong to Sakon Krongyut, 49, and his wife Saowanee, 46 who live in the same village.

Ms Saowanee said she had raised three American bully dogs, two of which were 3 years old and one of which was 1 year old and that the dogs were usually kept in their kennel. She said the attack happened as she went to buy some things at a nearby store.

She said shut the gate but must have forgot lock it before she left the house.

When she got back home, she saw her Bully dogs attacking the victim. He had been bit on the face and head. He had left his bike on the road in front of her house, and she said there were blood spots on the road.

She put the bully dogs back in their cages right away and called for help for the hurt victim, who was crying out in pain.

Ms Saowanee said that her dogs had never hurt anyone and that she had raised them in the area around her house. She said she would talk to the family of Mr Seepak about paying for the funeral and awarding them compensation.

On Thursday the village headman went to the couple’s house and order they put up signs in front of the house alerting others that there were dangerous dogs inside.

Meanwhile, a family member called Mr Seepak’s 33-year-old son Prasert Seepak to say that his father had been badly hurt and was being taken to the hospital and had died from his injuries.

Mr. Prasert told the Thairath “this event has shocked me, my dad usually went for a bike ride around the village.” He said his dad was was going to neighbour to sell some frogs when the dogs attacked him.” The dogs belong to school teachers, but I haven’t talked to them yet”.

About the American Bully Dogs

The American bully dog is a new breed of dog that was created to be a companion dog. The American Kennel Club accepted the breed as a breed in 2004. Like Rottweilers but stronger than American pit bulls, American Bulldogs are known for having a strong bite.

An XL American bully dog is the most substantial variant of the American bully breed. These dogs are characterised as being huge, with a well-built physique and a robust head, which indicates significant strength and power relative to their size.

Male extra-large (XL) dogs have a height of 20 inches (51 centimetres) at the shoulder, whereas female XL dogs are slightly smaller.

The UK does not have official statistics on the population of XL bullies. However, dogs are classified as XL if they meet the minimum height requirement and possess a significant number of other defining traits.
