(CTN News) – In a lovely turn of events at the “13th World Invention Creativity Olympics 2024” (WICO 2024), four talented Thai students won two gold medals, one silver medal, and a special prize, cementing their place on the global stage.
This international competition, organised by the Korea University Invention Association (KUIA) and the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA), took place at the prestigious Seoul University of Education Convention Hall and featured 206 innovative inventions from 27 countries around the world.
The Thai kids astounded the audience and judges with their brilliance, delivering three game-changing ideas that were both practical and forward-thinking. The first product was the Senior-Safety-Strider, an AI-powered walking aid with a fall detection system to ensure senior safety.
Next, they introduced the Smart Finger Fruit, an AI-powered glove capable of measuring the maturity of fruits, so customers can enjoy their food at its best. Finally, they showcased Blip, a natural lip balm designed to minimise black pigmentation on lips, adding a touch of health and beauty to the mix.
Their innovative talents and hard labour were not overlooked. The team was awarded not just three gold, but also a coveted special prize from the Research Institution of Creativity Education (RICE). The award ceremony was a resounding success, bringing much joy to their families, schools, and country.
Pimphaporn Chonviriyabun, Kanjanik Chonviriyabun, and Natam Wongkularb from Ruamrudee International School (RIS) made up the remarkable quartet, which also included Piraya Makaraphong from Youth Exchange School.
These young inventors displayed outstanding ingenuity and technical prowess, establishing a positive example for their classmates and future generations.
