Chiang Rai Highways Department has reported the closure of the Kok River Bridge in Ban Tha Kobong, Pong Noi Subdistrict, Doi Luang District of Chiang Rai Province, due to the collapse of the bridge piers due to strong floodwaters and erosion, causing traffic to be temporarily impassable.
The flood situation in Chiang Rai Province still continues in the Ing River basin, even though many areas have returned to normal. The Mekong River, which is receding, allowing water drainage to be faster. The water is still flooding Ban Pa Kha Village, Village No. 8 and Ban Pa Tan Village, Village No. 12, Tambon Pa Tan, Amphoe Khun Tan, which have been flooded for almost a week.
Most recently, airmen from Squadron 416, together with officials from Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai Airport, brought several boats to deliver relief bags and food to the victims in both villages.
Previously, flash floods from Doi Tung flowed down Khlong Hua Khao and Lam Huai Mae Rai through Ban San Kong Village, Village No. 7, Tambon Mae Rai, Amphoe Mae Chan, Chiang Rai Province, causing panic among the villagers.ย Flash floods reached the roofs of their houses.
