GLO Director Lt. Col Noon Sansanakhom announced Monday that the Government Lottery Office (GLO) sold two million additional digital lottery tickets in a mere 22 seconds for the September 16 draw.
According to Thai PBS, the Pao Tang application allowed the dealers to purchase 20,000 vouchers on September 6.
The merchants had placed orders for seven million digital lottery tickets, but only two million were available, indicating that the demand exceeded the supply.
He stated that the additional digital tickets would be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to resolve the issue.
The additional tickets have increased the total number of tickets for the September 16th draw from 24 million to 26 million, thereby increasing the availability of digital lottery tickets for 80 baht each.
The GLO director clarified that the objective is to replicate the actual lottery market by progressively increasing the number of digital lottery tickets per draw.
His cautionary statement to lottery dealers emphasizes assessing their financial situation to determine their ability to purchase further digital tickets. Failure to do so will result in them bearing the financial burden if they cannot sell all of their tickets.
In addition to augmenting the number of digital lottery tickets, he said that the GLO intends to expand its distribution channels, enabling dealers to sell digital lottery tickets to the general public through the www.glolotteryshop.com website.
