Police in Northern Thailand’s Mae Hong Son province have arrested a man after he beat his wife unconscious then exploded a ping pong bomb that he had placed into her mouth.
Pol. Lt. Col. Piyaphan Phiasa-at, an investigator at Mok Champae Police Station said they received a report of a domestic disturbance at Ban Na Pa Paek, Tambon Mok Champae, Amphoe Mueang and dispatched a team of officers to investigate.
Upon arrival they found a woman dead on a bed with her face completely mutilated. Mr. Yon the victims husband was sitting outside the home in a drunken state.
Upon questioning Mr. Yon he said he was drunk, and when he returned home and saw his wife hadn’t cooked, he scolded her and became very angry, and punched her until she passed out on the bed.
Then he used the ping-pong bomb he always carried with him to stuff into his wife’s mouth and ignited it with a lighter. His wife identified only as Mrs. Luen died immediately.
Pol. Lt. Col. Piyaphan said that the police officers arrested Mr. Yon for murder. Currently, police are detaining the suspect at Mok Champae Police Station the police must wait to further question the suspect, as he requested a lawyer.
