(CTN News) – Pakistan on Saturday constituted a committee to identify firms to boycott for helping Israel in its attack on Gaza. “A committee has also been constituted to identify such companies and products in Pakistan that may be directly or indirectly abetting Israel or forces committing war crimes against Palestinians,” said Rana Sanaullah, advisor on political matters to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Pakistan forms committee to identify, and boycott businesses supporting Israel
The decision happened following a compromise between the government and a far-right political group named Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
TLP conducted a demonstration and sit-in in the city of Rawalpindi near the capital Islamabad, which concluded late on Friday after the deal was announced.
The deal mandates authorities offer greater humanitarian help to Palestinians and prohibit any goods from corporations supporting Israel.
Additionally, Islamabad said that Pakistan already views Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a terrorist and encouraged the whole community to do the same.
Netanyahu is accountable for crimes done by Israeli troops in Palestine, and we consider him a terrorist We urge the entire community to label Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu a terrorist, the agreement says.
Sanaullah, accompanied by leaders of the TLP, said to the media in Islamabad that Israel is a terrorist nation and that Netanyahu has contributed to the commission of war crimes.
According to Sanaullah, Pakistan would use any measures at its disposal to provide assistance to Palestinians and to denounce Israel as a terrorist nation.
He went on to say that the TLP and the government had also reached an agreement to speed up the process of delivering one thousand tons of humanitarian supplies to Palestinians living in Gaza. This help would consist of food, medication, and other goods.
Sanaullah issued a call to action addressed to the international community, particularly the Muslim population throughout the globe, to hold Netanyahu responsible and bring him to justice.
If the Palestinian Authority made any such preparations for the treatment of wounded Palestinians, the official said that Islamabad was also prepared to send injured Palestinians to Pakistan.
He made the statement that “our schools and hospitals are open to provide education and medical facilities to the Palestinians who are entirely innocent.”
Pakistan announced at the beginning of this month that it would be providing scholarships to Palestinian medical students from Gaza so that they may continue their studies in Pakistan, which is located in South Asia.
Several batches of twenty to thirty Palestinian students from Gaza are expected to enroll at medical institutes in Pakistan soon, according to the Foreign Ministry.
