Shehbaz sets sights on $60b exports in 3 years
In the course of presiding over a meeting of the National Export Development Board (NEDB), Shehbaz requested that the Ministry of Commerce and any other ministries that were pertinent to the matter take all of the required steps to accomplish the export goal. Within the next two weeks, he requested that the ministry address the concerns raised by exporters and provide a report on the circumstances.
According to Shehbaz, Pakistan’s exports surpassed the $30 billion barrier during the previous fiscal year.
Additionally, the policies implemented by the government brought the country’s information technology exports to more than $3.2 billion. He expressed his gratitude to the business sector and investors for their contribution to the rise in exports, which occurred despite the challenging conditions.
To increase agricultural exports, Prime Minister Shehbaz gave the Ministry of Commerce the mission of finalizing policy ideas in consultation with representatives of prospective export industries.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Food Security was given the responsibility of improving extension services in conjunction with provinces. As a result of his instructions, high-quality seeds and agricultural goods were to be exported after undergoing further processing, and steps were to be taken to create crop types that produced high yields.
