(CTN News) – EarthQuakes in Vietnam are causing tremors to be felt by residents of the provinces of Ubon Ratchathani and Sakon Nakhon.
On Sunday, a tremor with a magnitude of 5.3 was felt in two provinces in the northeastern region of Vietnam. These provinces are Ubon Ratchathani and Sakon Nakhon.
The Thai Earthquake Observation Division stated that the earthquake occurred.
Specifically, the division that falls under the Meteorological Department said that the earthquake occurred at a depth of ten kilometres and that its epicenter was located 361 km southeast of the Muang district in Ubon Ratchathani.
The earthquake was felt in the Warin Chamrap and Muang districts of Ubon Ratchathani, as well as in the Muang district of Sakon Nakhon, even though it was located a great distance away.
The residents of Tambon Muang Sri Khai in Warin Chamrap said that their buildings shook and that their drapes and other objects that were hung from the ceiling swung.
People in Tambon Nai Muang, which is located in the Muang district of Ubon Ratchathani, and Tambon That Cheongchum, which is located in the Muang district of Sakon Nakhon, experienced feelings of vertigo and a swaying of their bodies.
It was also reported by the division that residents of Tambon Kham Nam Saeb in Warin Chamrap experienced a little swaying at their work tables.
Even though 5.3 is not an insignificant magnitude, it is believed that substantial damage in Vietnam is unlikely to occur, according to reports.
