(CTN News) – Xiaomi is upgrading its smartphone operating system from MIUI to HyperOS. While both platforms are utilized on Xiaomi smartphones, HyperOS adds extra functionality. Here’s how HyperOS differentiates apart and benefits users.

1. UNIFIED ECOSYSTEM INTEGRATION.

HyperOS seeks to integrate all Xiaomi devices into a single system. This includes smartphones, tablets, computers, wearables, and smart home gadgets. This integration offers a simple user experience, allowing consumers to navigate between devices and control their smart homes more effectively. It’s even compatible with Xiaomi’s SU7 electric vehicle.

2. Improved performance and battery life.

HyperOS consumes fewer resources than MIUI, taking up just 9.14 GB vs. MIUI’s 12.53. This saves more than 3 GB of storage and improves the system’s performance. HyperOS also increases battery life. Background optimizations may cause high battery use at first, but it will last longer after that.

3. DYNAMICAL INTERACTION FEATURES

HyperOS offers a feature similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island, known as the “Dynamic Notch.” The region surrounding the notch or punch-hole camera is used to display information such as charging speed, battery %, hotspot status, and quiet mode. It now offers a restricted set of functionality, but future upgrades will provide more.

4. EASY BLOATWARE REMOVAL.

MIUI customers have complained about pre-installed applications, or bloatware, that were difficult to uninstall. HyperOS simplifies this process with a tool for deleting undesirable programmes. This frees up storage and boosts speed by eliminating background activities.

5. Improved Control Centre.

HyperOS has a redesigned Control Centre with a clean design, which removes icon captions by default for simplicity. Users may choose to re-enable captions in the settings. The redesigned Control Centre has bigger icons and a single, swipeable panel for simple navigation. It also contains a music-playing widget, which allows users to manage their music without navigating between programmes.

LOOKING AHEAD

Users enjoy HyperOS because of its ecosystem integration, improved performance, and user-friendly features like bloatware eradication. Xiaomi is extending HyperOS to include additional devices, providing a seamless transition. As HyperOS improves, it may provide new features, improve the Dynamic Notch, and integrate third-party programmes and services. Xiaomi has made significant improvements with HyperOS, which focuses on a smooth user experience and a connected environment, creating a new benchmark for its devices.
