(CTN News) – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and humid weather for Karachi over the next three days, with residents continuing to endure scorching temperatures.

According to the Met Office, temperatures in the port city are expected to reach 39°C today (Sunday), intensifying the already sweltering conditions.

While there is a chance of thunderstorms in parts of Sindh, including Tharparkar, Badin, and Umerkot districts, Karachi will not receive any rain today. The ongoing heatwave, however, is expected to subside soon.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz indicated that the heatwave is likely to decrease from tomorrow due to the restoration of sea breezes, which is anticipated to begin by tonight.

Weather analyst Jawad Memon explained that the hot and humid weather has caused low air pressure in the Arabian Sea, but this is expected to end very soon.

He added that the returning sea breezes will bring about sea clouds, creating the possibility of drizzle in different areas during the night and morning in the coming days.

Karachi Swelters Under Severe Heat Wave

Karachi has been gripped by a severe heat spell in recent days, with temperatures soaring above 40°C and “feels like” temperatures exceeding 50°C.

Residents experienced brief relief with a short spell of rain, but the respite was short-lived, and Karachiites are now preparing for continued hot and humid conditions.

Despite no forecast for rain in the city today, experts suggest that monsoon rains are likely to commence next week, potentially bringing much-needed relief to the residents of Karachi.
