(CTN News) – In Thailand and Malaysia, Neta formally unveiled the Neta X small SUV. This electric vehicle crossover has been modified for right-hand drive and further customized for the regional market.
The Neta X, which debuted as the Neta X, is an upgraded version of the original Neta U that underwent a makeover in 2023. The Neta X is priced at 99,800 yuan (about 13,750 USD) in China. Its dimensions are 4619 mm in length, 1860 mm in width, 1628 mm in height, and 2770 mm in wheelbase.
Neta X in Malaysia and Thailand
There are two varieties of the Neta X available in Thailand, with prices ranging from 739,000 baht to 799,000 baht (20,580 USD to 22,250 USD). There are three variants available in Malaysia, with prices ranging from 119,888 ringgit to 135,888 ringgit (about 25,750 USD to 29,180 USD). In contrast, the official Neta X pricing in China ranges from 99,800 to 124,800 yuan (or 13,750 to 17,200 USD).
Right-hand drive, a 15.6-inch floating central control screen, and an 8.9-inch floating instrument panel are characteristics of the Neta X offered in Thailand and Malaysia. It has built-in navigation, internet music, multilingual voice control, and smartphone app-based car control. It also has an L2-level driver-aid system available.
A permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 120 kW and a peak torque of 210 Nm powers both the Thai and Malaysian versions. Their WLTP range is 323 km for the 51.8 kWh or 410 km with the 62 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack that comes with them.
Production Abroad
Horizon Auto’s Neta brand started producing its debut model, the Neta V-II (known as the Neta Aya in China), in Thailand at the end of last year. Before working with Bangchan General Assembly, a local partner in Thailand, manufacturing was scheduled to commence in January 2024, but it was able to begin sooner.
This same manufacturer produces the recently released Neta X. First, the Thailand plant is delivering automobiles to Malaysia and Thailand, and it is anticipated that additional ASEAN countries, such as Indonesia and Vietnam, will follow.
With 12,777 EVs sold, Neta was the second-best-selling electric brand in Thailand, behind BYD. The Neta V, the brand’s lone model, sold the second-most electric cars in Thailand last year, despite its limited availability. According to Neta, the company intends to open 500 foreign sales and service locations by 2024 and expand its worldwide sales network to include 50 nations.
