Police in Bangkok have announced the death of 24-year-old Swiss model Gwendoline Cretton at her home in the Prawet neighbourhood. The woman allegedly suffered nine stab wounds.
Her husband, who is of Chinese nationality, allegedly screamed for help, and neighbours who heard him ran to the scene, but they were unable to save her, according to the police.
The husband—whose name is still unknown—rushed her to the hospital alleging she took her own life.
However, police are still not convinced, thinking he set up the entire thing to hide a murder. The authorities have taken his passport as part of their ongoing inquiry.
In response to the tragic news of a Swiss national’s death in Thailand, the Swiss Embassy in Bangkok stated that it was in touch with local authorities and family members to offer any necessary support.
Renowned agency CalCarries International Management represented Gwendoline and other well-known models including Gaile Lok, Kathy Chow Man-kei, and Danielle Graham.
The agency acknowledged that her contract was valid until 2024, but they mentioned that they had lost touch with her after she stopped working with them.
In the wake of Gwendoline’s untimely demise, the fashion industry and all those who knew and loved her are mourning the loss of a promising young talent. With any luck, the investigation will lead to the revelation of the truth and the execution of justice for this terrible incident.
